Visa requirements
/ inoculations
Bona fide tourists and business travelers of the following
countries are exempted from visa requirements: Angola, Austria,
Belgium, Botswana, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy,
Japan, Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Mozambique,
Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Tanzania, United
Kingdom, United States of America, Zimbabwe. Visitors are,
however, advised to confirm visa requirements with their travel
agent.
No inoculations are required. We advise clients to see to
it that their Tetanus shots are up to date
(usually valid for a period of 5 years). Our concessions fall
outside high-risk malaria areas, but the
decision is yours. We carry First Aid equipment, so
you do not need to bring any. Obviously, should you
require special medication, bring that with you.
Make sure you have ample sun lotion with
you.
Hunting
season
The trophy hunting season stretches from 1st February to 30th
November. The hunting season is closed to trophy hunting during
December and January.
Rifle imports
Namibia is one of the most hunter friendly countries in
Africa. You are allowed to bring two rifles, with an allowance
of a maximum of 80 rounds of ammo per rifle.
If you do bring a shotgun, don't hassle with ammo. Our local
gun shops have plenty for you to purchase. If you advise
us in advance, we will make sure there will be available.
A rifle in the 300 Magnum range (300 Win Mag, 338, etc)
will be sufficient for everything up to Eland. If you have
something smaller, please don't feel discouraged. Discuss
the matter with Danie for the best advice for the animals
you want to hunt.
If needed you may use of one of Danie's rifles. You will
be required to fill out a Rifle Import/Export Application,
which must be handed to the police at the airport. We will
supply this form when you book so you can have it filled
out and ready when you arrive in Namibia. At the bottom
of this form there is a table to be filled out. Some of
the questions are a little confusing, so here is an example
of what they require:

Clothing requirements
The most important is a pair of well broken-in ankle length
boots. Bring a broad rimmed hat to protect neck and ears
against the sun. Bring something warm for the evenings and
early mornings, especially during our winter (June, July,
and August). It gets cold at night! We prefer our clients
to hunt in long pants (trousers) and long sleeved shirts,
both as sun protection and general protection as most of
our bushes have thorns! Leave the Blue Jeans home for hunting,
they are too noisy in the bush. Make sure you pack
no bright colours or whites. Dark Khaki,
green, cammo, etc. will be the best. Although we
use cammo in the bush, public use is reserved for police
and military. But in the hunting camps you will have no
problem using it. Above all, travel light! We have a laundry
service every other day in all our camps, which means yesterday's
clothes will be available tomorrow. Three changes of clothes
will do it.

Communication
Namibia is one of Africa's most politically stable countries
with road, telecommunication, electricity and medical infrastructure
comparable to any country in the world. With a population
of only 1,8 million people in a country four times the size
of Great Britain, more than twice the size of Germany and
larger than Texas, Namibia is the jewel on the African Continent.
All of our hunting areas have telephone services which you
are more than welcome to make use of during your hunt. A
Laptop computer will always be available for your convenience
to send and receive e-mails, but NO picture sending or receiving
due to slow downloading (19 Kb per sec dial up.). You will
always be reachable. That is if you want to be...

Cameras, etc.
Our mains power supply is 220 Volt with round, three pin
plugs. If you will require recharging, make sure you bring
an inverter. The same is true for any electrical device
(hair dryers, etc.). Bring lots if film and make sure your
camera bag is dust proof. If you have a digital camera,
we have a Laptop computer available for you to download
pictures and save it on CD. Just bring your downloading
cable and software on a CD.

Camps
Our camps are set up to handle groups of up to 6 hunters
with 6 observers. Groups larger than this will, of necessity,
be split between camps. All of the camps have hot and cold
running water. Bathrooms are all equipped with flush toilets,
so you won't have to rough it too much. As we hunt in more
than one area with most of our safaris it is difficult to
show all the different accommodation. But we can assure
you that all of our accommodation adheres to the Regulations
of the Namibian Tourism Board. We take pride in our hunting
camps. Once your safari has been planned and you are still
unsure about the accommodation, please do ask and we will
forward pictures of the given camps for your convenience.
Further more, you can contact any of our references and
find out more about our camps or the staff. Danie prefers
to hunt with all clients himself and will not set you up
to hunt with an inexperienced guide: this is
his personal guarantee. He is very result-orientated
and wants the best for all his clients.

Specie availability
Not all species are available in all camps. Best is to let
us have your wish list and leave the camp decision to us.
On the Plains Game Package page on our web site you will
find a variation of hunting packages formulated for your
convenience. If you feel like putting together a tailor
made safari, we will be more than willing to do so. Just
give us your needs and we will plan the rest.
